(GIS) The Executive Council on Thursday is scheduled to discuss via video conference with the Antillean Council of Ministers progress as it relates to the transfer of tasks and responsibilities to the Island Territory based on the November 24, 2008 agreement that was signed between the Island Government and the Central Government.

Commissioner of Constitutional Affairs Sarah Wescot-Williams said justice matters and the transfer of Winair are on the agenda as well as steps taken or accomplished to date by both governments as it relates to the transfer.

The Executive Council will also want to know the status of the transfer of the Bureau of Telecommunications & Post. The Island Government has prepared a transfer dossier with the assistance of KPMG outlining how the Central Government's tasks will be absorbed into the departments and transitioned to the ministries of Country St. Maarten. A copy of this dossier has been sent to the Central Government.
